The Workout

According to Dr. Oz, a good workout should include strength training, aerobics, and one other form of exercise. The benefits of regular workouts are tremendous. (We’ve included a list of 100 reasons.) Benefits include: increased muscle mass and metabolism when you strength train; improved cardiovascular and respiratory systems when you get and stay aerobic at least 20 minutes a day; and increased flexibility, circulation, and range of motion when you stretch after a workout.

Strength training, aerobics, and stretching are the 3 components of the Curves strength-training workout. It is an incredibly efficient total workout that only takes about 30 minutes. The efficiency comes through hydraulic resistance. You get aerobic and strength train at the same time. You’re pushing fluid through a restricted orifice to provide resistance, creating a force that simulates weights. This type of resistance is similar to aquatics and is safer than managing weight stacks. For a 30-minute workout you will go around the circuit twice strength training and being aerobic at the same time and then finish up with stretching.
